FAQ

We are predominantly a private practice with a very small NHS contract (limited government funding). For this reason we have no capacity on the NHS at present and when we do, we prioritise it to children, vulnerable children/adults and those on certain benefits.

Should you wish to register as a patient at Tenbury Dental Centre, we can register you on a private basis only at present.

Feel free to contact the reception team for further details.

  • ALWAYS remember to brush your teeth at least two times a day, and floss and or other interdental aids (TePe brushes) at least once!
  • Make sure to use toothpaste that contains fluoride. This will help prevent cavities.
  • Avoid foods with a lot of sugar (sugar increases the amount of bacteria that grows in your mouth causing more plaque and possibly cavities) and avoid tobacco (this can stain your teeth, cause gum disease, and increases the risk of oral cancer).
  • Don’t be afraid to brush your tongue! By brushing your tongue, you will remove food particles and reduce the amount of plaque-causing bacteria. Tongue brushing also helps keep your breath fresh.
  • Be sure to schedule your routine checkup as recommended by your dentist.

Please, visit our Fees page for treatments costs and finance options. Every treatment we perform is exclusively tailor-made to each patient and fees are entirely case dependent. To find out costs, you should first have an assessment with our dentists.

You have a variety of options available depending on your case. You can have a denture, multiple individual implants placed, implant bridge or All-on-4 OR All-on-6 solution.  Please, call our treatments coordinators who will book you in for a consultation with our experienced dentists

Yes! You can see the hygienist via the direct access pathway. It is not compulsary to have a dentist referal although  we would recommend that you see a dentist if you have not seen one within a year.

Yes, of course you can! We have patients that come to us from as far as London, Corwall and abroad.  You can continue to see your usual dentist. Please keep your contact details at the practice up to date letting us know of any changes to your address and telephone numbers as soon as possible.

Many people feel anxious about going to the dentist. They may fear the possibility of pain or feel embarrassed because they have not been to the dentist for a long time. We understand these feelings and are sympathetic to patients who are nervous or who have a phobia. Don’t be worried about telling a dentist that you are nervous or frightened. It helps if you can identify which things make you nervous and let the practice know before you arrive for your appointment.

Yes, we offer 0% finance (12 months) on treatments over £500 allowing you to spread your costs throught the year without paying any extra

When you have any teeth removed you are left with a hole (tooth socket) in your jawbone. At first a blood clot forms, before healing over completely.

If bleeding occurs when you go home, apply pressure on the tooth socket with a clean, damp rolled piece of guage OR clean cotton/linen handkerchief. Try this for the first  20-30  minutes. This should usually stop the bleeding but if bleeding does not stop, please telephone the surgery for further advice.  Keep biting on the handkerchief until you have spoken to or seen the dentist.

It is our aim to always have satisfied patients, to meet your expectations of care and service and to resolve any complaints as efficiently, effectively and politely as possible. We take complaints very seriously, investigating them in a full and fair way and take great care to protect your confidentiality. We
learn from complaints to improve our care and service. We will never discriminate against patients who have made a complaint.

If you are not entirely satisfied with any aspect of our care or service, please let us know as soon as possible to allow us to address your concerns promptly. We accept complaints made verbally as well as written complaints.

Vishal Patel is the Complaints Manager and Marcel Mehra is the Deputy complaint manager. They will be your personal contact to assist you with any complaints. We aim to resolve verbal complaints within 24 hours where possible, but if you complain in writing the Complaints Manager will send an acknowledgment letter within 3 working days and will aim
to provide a full response in writing as soon as practical.

You can send your complaints to Tenbury Dental Centre, 32 Teme Street, Tenbury Wells, WR15 8AA OR  call us on 01584 810514 or email the Complaints Manager on tenburydental@gmail.com

If the Complaints Manager is unavailable, we will take brief details about the complaint and will arrange for a meeting when it is suitable for you and the practice.

We will keep comprehensive and confidential records of your complaint, which will be stored securely and only be accessible by those who need to
know about your complaint. If the complaint investigation takes longer than anticipated, the Complaints Manager will contact you at least every ten working days to keep you informed of the reason for any delays, the progress of the investigation and the proposed date it will be completed.

When the investigation has been completed, you will be informed of its outcome in writing. We will make our response clear, addressing each of your concerns as best as we can. You will also be invited to a meeting to discuss the results and any practical solutions that we can offer to you. These solutions could include replacing treatment, refunding fees paid, referring you for specialist treatments or other solutions that meet your needs and resolve the complaint.

We regularly analyse patient complaints to learn from them and to improve our services. That’s why we always welcome your feedback, comments, suggestions, and complaints. If you are dissatisfied with our response to a complaint you can take the matter further, please see the contacts below.

If you are dissatisfied with our response to a complaint you can contact the GDC private dental complaints service within 12 months of the treatment or within 12 months of becoming aware of the issue. Please see the contact details below:
